Autumn postcards
In which we’ve lit Autumn’s first fire in the woodstove, the sun rises later and later spilling light into dramatic dawns, I’ve had breakfast in the company of a toad, the first mushrooms are making their way to our meals, and I’ve been utterly, completely lost into the beauty of it all.
Today’s transmission is mostly photos and little writing. I think that’s okay too.
This sweet little jumper for my little one flew off my knitting needles. Here’s the pattern I used, if you’re craving a mushroom jumper now, too.
The last blooms, still going strong nevertheless.
Same landscape, different sunrise — are you paying attention, the Earth was asking.
Some episodes I’ve listened to lately while gardening/ knitting/ canning the last pickles of the season and that are worth sharing:
🔗 The Danger of Herbal Fads, on The Plant Path podcast — on certain herbs getting overhyped, often with serious environmental and social consequences. And, as Sajah says, We overlook the broader application and uses of herbs when they get pigeonholed in these little categories that get created with herbal fads.
🔗 Expanding activism beyond electoral politics
🔗 The Plants Made Me Do It — on leaving instagram, with Sister Spinster (as if I needed reasons to love the Off the Grid show even more)
🔗 Sacred Labor, Small Business & Anti-Capitalism — another episode from Off the Grid 💛
On a separate note, I noticed today that I’m down to the seven (yes, SEVEN!) last copies of my book I have at home that can be purchased through me. If you’ve been thinking of getting yourself, or someone else, a signed copy, this really is your last chance as I won’t be able to offer this option any longer.
Once these copies are gone, they are gone and you can only purchase The Wild Craft through your local bookstore or online stores.
Gifting season is approaching *wink wink*
I have some fun and exciting house-building and life updates to share soon… But until then, tell me—what’s bringing you joy this season? 🍂
